Monadenium ritchiei Variegated
This cool succulent is a rarity, found naturally in Kenya. It has unique, bumpy tubercles that surround the central stem, giving it an almost hard-carved appearance. It's an easy succulent to grow with normal conditions, enjoys bright light up to a few hours of full sun daily, and prefers a fast-draining, porous soil. In the home collection, these should be watered every 10-14 days, allowing the medium to fully dry before adding water, and making sure the roots are never soggy. Unfortunately, this species is not suitable for pets (or children, spouses, etc.) that like to nibble, because its sap is irritating and potentially toxic.
