We hope you love your Root & Relic purchase! Because many of our items are handmade, vintage, one-of-a-kind, or available in limited quantities, please review the following before purchasing.
Handmade & Custom Items
Handmade, personalized, and custom-made items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless they arrive damaged or we made an error with your order.
Please remember that handmade items may have slight variations in color, texture, distressing, wood grain, size, or finish. These small differences are part of what makes each piece unique.
Vintage Items
Vintage and previously owned items are sold as-is. We do our best to describe and photograph any noticeable wear, age, or imperfections before purchase. Signs of age are considered part of the character of vintage pieces and are not considered defects.
Other Merchandise
Unused, non-custom merchandise may be returned within 14 days of delivery. Items must be in their original condition and packaging.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 3 days of delivery and include photos of the item and packaging. We’ll work with you to make it right.
Final Sale Items
Clearance items, custom orders, personalized items, and items specifically marked Final Sale cannot be returned or exchanged.

Our handmade wood décor is created to be enjoyed for years. A little care will help preserve the finish and artwork.
Wood Block Art
- Display indoors only unless the item is specifically marked for outdoor use.
- Keep away from direct moisture, steam, and excessive humidity.
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which may cause colors to fade over time.
- Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth.
- Do not soak, scrub, or use household cleaners on the surface.
- Do not place hot or wet items directly on the block.
- Handle embellished pieces carefully to protect ribbons, keys, bells, dried botanicals, and other decorative details.
Handmade Finish
Many Root & Relic pieces are intentionally distressed, antiqued, or aged. Variations in wood grain, texture, color, brushwork, and distressing are part of the handmade character of each piece and are not defects.
Decoupaged Artwork and Painted Artwork
Artwork is sealed for protection, but the surface is not waterproof. If cleaning is necessary, use a barely damp soft cloth and gently wipe the area, then dry immediately. Avoid rubbing or picking at the edges of the artwork.
With gentle handling and indoor display, your Root & Relic piece should remain a charming part of your home for many seasons to come.
