Long-Fiber Sphagnum Moss (1gal. Bag)

We use only the highest-quality dried New Zealand Sphagnum for our Orchids, Carnivores, Aroids, and other plants.  This is the "best-of-the-best", made even better by the fact that it's sustainably harvested without destroying the environment.   Sphagnum is long-fibered peat, able to retard growth of many microbes and hold far more than its own weight in water.  When growing sensitive plants like Nepenthes and Orchids, it's essential that you use a very high-quality Sphagnum, because cheaper ones are often full of sticks and other non-Sphagnum debris, and some sold in garden centers contain fertilizers or other chemicals that can mean death for sensitive specimens.  We ship gallon-sized zipper bags of the same Sphagnum we've used for decades.  Just soak it in warm water until saturated, wring out excess moisture, and use it to pot your plants or add to your own potting blend!
